I have been working out for about 20 years and have used several different brands. The biggest pain is the weight distribution. When the dumbbells are wide and carry equal weight plates, they could be hard to balance when the weight goes up. The result is that I get distracted by the balancing efforts and my wrists hurt sometimes. This dumbbell set carried heavier weights towards the center, making the center of gravity more concentrated on your palms. Also, the weight control knobs are super smooth.
I like these so much I’ve purchased them twice, I sold my first set to a friend a few years back for what I gave for them and regretted it almost immediately. These weights offer an excellent progression of weights from light to slightly heavy. Their ease of use changing weights make them a time saver and I believe encourage sticking with it to a degree.
I wouldn’t say they were for a serious bodybuilder but for overall fitness I believe they are excellent and will last if handled correctly.
You can gain some pretty good muscles with these, I quit my gym membership because I wanted to save money, you literally only need these and a bench and you're good. You can easily do DB bench and DB shoulder press, or incline DB bench without the dumbells hitting eachother.
These dumbbells came as advertised. I love these dumbbells! Pro's - all required dumbbells are in one dumbbell (great space saver), it is quick and easy to switch weights Con - I only have one and this is the case with most dumbbells as they get heavier. The size of them are bigger. This isnt a complaint, more of an FYI for consideration
